Contrary to popular belief, child sexual abuse is a widespread problem in many societies around the world. Although sexual abuse is quite difficult and embarrassing to talk about, families must find ways to teach their children to protect themselves from sexual abuse.
Adults should take proactive steps to protect children from this significant risk. Both boys and girls are victims of child abuse, although females are more often the victims than males.
