Adoption is a legal process by which a couple takes the responsibility to raise a child who is not biologically related to them as their own. Adoption creates a permanent legal relationship between the adoptive parents and the child. When you adopt a child, the legal rights of the real parents of the child get transferred to you. Additionally, the adopted child has the same rights as any biological child of your own.
